You can customize the Display Size, Height, Text Color, and Background
Color of the display area.

Display Size will cause the web page to reload.
-

display area. Heights range from minimum to maximum. Changing the
Height will cause the web page to reload.
-

optimize your viewing experience by selecting from the options offered in the
Text Color... and Background Color... pull-down menus.
Transcript Snapshot
Get a complete and up to the minute snapshot of the live transcript.
Please note that large transcripts may take several seconds to download
depending upon your available bandwidth.
-
Open the Transcript Snapshot - Open the snapshot by clicking on the View
Transcript button (6).
-
Update the Transcript Snapshot - Update the snapshot by refreshing the
Transcript Snapshot or click on the View Transcript button again.
Save to File (Third Party Viewers)*
Save the complete CaseView® data** feed to a file on your computer for use by
your realtime viewer or litigation support software. By using third party
viewing tools capable of accepting a realtime transcript from a file, such as
LiveNote™, you can view the live proceedings with your software of choice from
across the hall or across the country. If your software doesn't support
connecting to a file as the source for realtime connection, you may still be able to open
the file by importing it or by opening it through a realtime simulation tool.
-
Saving to a File - To save the CaseView® data** to a file on your computer:
-
Click on the To File
button (7) in the right bottom corner of the applet. This will open a Save
dialog.
-
(Save dialog) Select the location where you wish to save the data file.
If you are reconnecting a transcript to an existing file started earlier
that day, select the location of the file that you wish to update / continue.
-
(Save dialog) Enter a filename for the new data file or select the file to be
updated / continued. It is recommended that you confirm whether your
realtime viewer or litigation support software requires the use of any specific
file extensions (.sim, .log, .txt, etc...).
-
(Save dialog) Click on she Save button.
-
All data issued by the court reporter will be saved to the file and all
realtime data will be appended to the file as it is received. If an
existing file was selected, the file will be continued from the point where it
left off.
-
The Standard Display will report the full path of the transcript file and cease
to scroll. Example: Outputting to C:\Transcripts\Trans20050508.log
-
Realtime Viewer - If your RealTime Viewer supports the use of a file as the
data source for your CaseView® realtime transcript, you can open your Realtime
Viewer and select the file saved above as the source for the realtime
transcript. For example, LiveNote™ users need only choose File instead of
Serial in the Connect Via box and then browse to the file saved above in the
Connect to Realtime window. Just like a serial feed, you will want to
confirm the settings for Lines Per Page and CAT System.
Important Note: Some companies that provide realtime viewing products may require fees to be paid for each realtime session. Please check with your vendor to see if any fees apply.
-
Litigation Support Software - If your Litigation Support Software supports
importing a transcript from a file containing CaseView® data, you can
open your Litigation Support Software and select the file saved above
for importing into a transcript. Please note, it may be necessary to
disconnect the file from the realtime feed (close the display window) while you
are importing the file.
* The Speche CR Viewer can send data to either the Standard Display or to a
File, but not to both at the same time. A second viewer window would be
required to facilitate both tasks simultaneously.
** The data is saved to the file in the form that it is received from the court
reporter. The form of the output is selected by the court reporter from
the options offered by their CAT software. While CaseView® is the most
commonly used output, other options may be available or preferred by either the
viewer or the court reporter for certain CAT systems.
