Start (Re-start) the Browser and Connection Test

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • JavaScript must be Enabled in your browser.
  • Java must be Enabled in your browser.
  • Pop-Blockers should be disabled while using Speche, or www.speche.com should be added to your allowed or exempt sites list.
  • Cookies should be enabled AND / OR allowed for www.speche.com (not required).

BROWSER SPECIFIC INFORMATION

Firefox

You can access all required properties by going to Tools / Options and choosing Web Features in the Options window.  Cookie properties can be accessed by going to Tools / Options and choosing Privacy / Cookies in the Options window.

Internet Explorer

Your privacy settings (cookies and pop-ups) can be accessed by going to Tools / Internet Options... and choosing the Privacy tab.
Your security settings can be accessed by going to Tools / Internet Options... and choosing the Security tab.

If your Security Level for the Internet Zone is set to High, we recommend the following options
  1. Set your Security Level for the Internet Zone to Medium.
  2. Choose Custom Level... and modify the following properties*:
    • Set Active scripting to Enable
    • Set Scripting of Java applets to Enable
    • Set Java Permissions to High Safety
If your Security Level for the Internet Zone is set to Custom, we recommend that you modify the following properties* (if needed).
  • Set Active scripting to Enable
  • Set Scripting of Java applets to Enable
  • Java Permissions
    • if Java Permissions is set to Disable Java, set Java Permissions to High Safety
    • if Java Permissions is set to Custom, the following Java Custom Settings... should not be disabled for Signed Content:
      Run Signed Content
      Access to all Files
      Access to all Network Addresses
      Execute
      Dialogs
      Printing
      Protected Scratch Space
      User Selected File Access
* Internet Explorer 5.x has two additional requirements
  1. Download signed ActiveX controls must not be disabled.
  2. Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting must not be disabled.
Netscape (7.x)

You can access all of the following settings and properties by opening the Preferences window and clicking on or expanding a Category.  Go to Edit / Preferences... to open the Preferences window.  To expand a Category, either click on the arrow behind the Category, or double click on the Category.
  • Java: Click on the Advanced category. Both the Enable Java and the Enable native object scripting checkboxes should be checked.
  • JavaScript: Expand the Advanced category and click on Scripts & Plugins.
  • Cookies: Expand the Privacy & Security category and click on Cookies.
  • Pop-ups: Expand the Privacy & Security category and click on Popup Windows.
Other Browsers (Mozilla, Safari, Galeon, ...)
