What should have happened (if everything would have worked):
Your browser will begin to download the web page from our server, and begin to render the HTML
Browser:
Internet Explorer
Security set to Low
The Java Applet will load and run
All of the formatting options and the View Transcript button will be available
Security set to High
You will be prompted to grant the Java Applet the permissions required to run
The Java Applet will download and run
Neither the formatting options nor the View Transcript button will be available
Security set to Custom
Please proceed to the

The Java Applet will download and run
All of the formatting options and the View Transcript button will be available
Netscape
You will be prompted four times (only once with Netscape 6.x) to grant the Java Applet the different permission required to run
The Java Applet will download and run
All of the formatting options and the View Transcript button will be available
Streaming text will scroll through the text display area
You will have the ability to change the Font, Font Size, and Color of the text
You will have the ability to change the Background Color of the text display area (Not available for Netscape 6.x)
You will have the ability to view an up to the second transcript of all text received
You will have the ability to change the display language (If multiple languages are available)
Requirements of the eScription Platform:
The text is delivered by means of a Java Applet, so your network must allow the downloading of Java Applets.
Browser Settings:
Internet Explorer
Download signed ActiveX controls must not be disabled
Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting must not be disabled
Active scripting must not be disabled
Scripting of Java applets must not be disabled
Within the Microsoft VM, Java must not be disabled. If your Java Permissions is set to Custom, please review the
Java permissions settings
required.
Netscape
Java must be enabled.
JavaScript must be enabled
Cookies:
Cookies are used to allow a user to save their formatting changes of the display area
Cookies must be enabled to allow formatting changes to be saved
Firewalls:
All communication is via HTTP over port 80
This platform is configured to work with all Standards Compliant firewalls and proxy servers

Java Permissions Settings for Microsoft VM
If you are using the Custom setting for Java permissions under the Microsoft VM, please review the following:
Run Signed Content must not be disabled
Access to all Files must not be disabled
Access to all Network Addresses must not be disabled
Execute must not be disabled
Dialogs must not be disabled
Printing must not be disabled
Protected Scratch Space must not be disabled
User Selected File Access must not be disabled
